As we see it, solvents are so widely used in pharmaceuticals that we better not list all the ways they're put to work. Instead, we've highlighted some key applications for solvents that involve high-pressure pipe usage:

Fire and Explosion Hazards
- Solvents like ethanol, acetone and hexane are highly flammable. Spray-out under pressure can create mist or vapour clouds which can ignite easily.
High-Pressure Jet Injuries
- The force of solvent solutions escaping under pressure can cause penetrating injuries. Even non-toxic solutions pose serious threat to life a high pressures.
Equipment Damage and Process Distuption
- Solvent leak can corrode equipment, damage insultation or contaminate product batches. Leading to production stall and downtime.
Environmental Contamination
- Spray-outs release solvents into the air, soil and water, contributing to Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) emissions and chemical pollution.
