Wind Turbines

Like any other piece of major equipment in the power industry, wind turbines represent a large investment for the companies that rely on them to generate both electricity and revenue.

Two key components of the wind turbine are the lubrication oil used in the gearbox as well as the hydraulic oils used to control the blade pitch & breaking system. Oil leaks that occur under pressure, can form a hydrocarbon vapour or “oil mist” which can easily ignite on hot surfaces resulting in fire. Due to their inaccessibility, wind turbine fires can result in considerable damage & expensive “downtime”.

Typical applications in the Wind Turbine industry include;
